What is National Save
for
Retirement Week?
In a follow-up to the successful passage of the previous Senate resolutions in 2007 and 2008, Senator Smith (R-OR) and Senator Conrad
(D-ND) introduced S. Res. 601. The resolution established the week of October 18, 2009,
as National Save for Retirement Week.
The House of Representatives has also recently passed a companion resolution,
H. Res. 1294, sponsored by Representatives Schwarz (D-PA) and Johnson (R-TX) that
had been drafted by the Committee on
Ways and Means.
